Tool · Overtime reconciliation

Check every overtime call against the sign-up book

Drop a day's overtime packet. Union Boss reads it page by page, pins every sign-up line to the original scan, and compares who signed up with who was called — against your contract's overtime rules.

How it works

From a stack of scans to a finding

The paperwork your facility already fills out is the evidence. Union Boss does the reading and the cross-checking; your officers do the judging.

Step 01

Drop the packet

One scan of the day's paperwork: sign-up book, call list, tracking forms, roster of assignment. Any order. Sideways pages are fine.

Step 02

It reads every page

Page by page, turned upright, and accepted only once the form is recognized. Call times, dates, and results are read one cell at a time.

Step 03

Every line, pinned

Each sign-up row sits next to a strip cut from its own line on the original scan, with the shift blocks drawn over it. Check the reading against the handwriting.

Step 04

Compared to the rules

The call order is rebuilt from the call times and checked against who signed up and your overtime article: who should have been called, and when.

What it catches

The hiring errors that cost members hours

Each finding names the sign-up line and the call it came from, so an officer can check it against the paper before anything is filed.

  • A volunteer who signed up and was never called
  • Calls made out of order
  • Overtime mandated while volunteers were still available
  • Overtime worked by someone who never signed up
  • Sign-ups that never made it onto the call list
  • A call list that isn't sorted by credited hours
  • Credited hours that don't match the printed totals
  • Voluntary overtime recorded as mandated, or the reverse

On the record

Built to hold up when management disputes it

Nothing is guessed

A cell the reader can't make out is marked for review, not filled in. Readings are checked for valid times, dates near the overtime day, and known result codes.

Officers decide

Stewards can see every audit. Only officers can edit readings or confirm a finding, and nothing becomes a voucher claim until an officer confirms it.

The scan stays yours

Scans are stored encrypted in your local's workspace. Strips are cut from the scan when you open them, not copied into the product.

Every facility's forms and overtime rules are a little different. When your local comes on, we set up your facility's forms, seniority list, and overtime rules before the first audit runs. See all tools.

Find out what the call list missed

Tell us about your local. We verify with your leadership, set up your facility, and your officers run the first reconciliation on a recent day.
